A Day in the Life
As the Director, Power Business / Asset Management, you’ll oversee the commercial, financial, and operational success of Tokyo Gas America’s North American power generation portfolio. You’ll collaborate with executive leadership, Tokyo Gas Headquarters, cross-functional teams, and external partners to optimize asset performance, evaluate business opportunities, and support strategic decisions.

What You’ll Do
• Lead the commercial, financial, and operational performance of Tokyo Gas America’s North American power generation portfolio, driving profitability and maximizing returns.
• Optimize asset performance through financial and operational analysis, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and returns.
• Lead the negotiation, execution, and management of commercial agreements, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), tolling agreements, hedging arrangements, and other revenue contracts.
• Develop commercial strategies by evaluating wholesale power markets, commercial risks, and revenue opportunities to support investment decisions.
• Evaluate strategic initiatives, including refinancing, restructuring, and asset divestitures, while providing recommendations to executive leadership.
• Lead and develop the Asset Management team while building strong partnerships across cross-functional teams and external partners to achieve business objectives.

Work Schedule & Environment
This is a full-time, local-hire position based in Houston, Texas. A hybrid work option is available subject to business needs.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in asset management, commercial management, or business management within the power generation industry.
• Strong understanding of wholesale power markets and commercial agreements, including PPAs and tolling agreements.
• Experience evaluating investments and business performance through financial analysis, forecasting, and valuation.
• Demonstrated leadership with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive business results.
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills.
• Business-level proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications
• MBA or other relevant graduate degree.
• Experience supporting acquisitions, asset divestitures, refinancing, or other strategic transactions.
• Experience working in a multinational organization and collaborating with overseas headquarters.
• Japanese language proficiency.

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary ranging from $190,000 to $220,000, based on qualifications, experience, and market considerations. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus and a comprehensive benefits package that includes 401(k), medical, dental and vision insurance, short-term disability, life insurance, education assistance, paid time off, company holidays, and a hybrid work option subject to business needs.
