Commercial Analyst

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The role of the Commercial Analyst is to support the Renewable Energy Division, especially for the business development of new utility-scale renewable energy and battery projects, in terms of commercial and finance aspects such as financial model including sensitivity analysis, preparing proposal and contract for PPA and finance arrangement (tax equity, project finance etc.) as well as tracking and communicating commercial and financial issues to stakeholders. The Commercial Analyst will work at the office alongside the Vice President of Renewable Energy Division.  

Main accountabilities:

  • Maintain and manage financial model with external financial advisors and related parties based on the instruction of supervisor.
  • Update financial model to support valuation, planning and forecasting.
  • Conduct sensitivity and comparable analysis of financial model according to several assumptions.
  • Analyze market pricing and congestion forecasts from advisors and order necessary modifications based on own market view nurtured through daily information gathering and analysis.
  • Attend a periodical and necessary meeting with each advisor such as Financial Advisor, Tax Advisor, Insurance Advisor and take meeting minutes.
  • Prepare and arrange finance for the project such as Tax Equity, Project Finance and maintain routine communication with finance lenders.
  • Arrange and prepare proposals of PPA with related parties and PPA contracts.
  • Analyze the economic feasibility of potential projects including technical inputs needed for calculation.
  • Support to arrange the transaction of potential equity sell down of project with related parties.

Minimum qualifications:

  • 3+ years of business finance or other relevant experience
  • High proficiency in financing model techniques
  • Experience of transactions for Tax Equity arrangement for renewable energy project Strong fluency with excel formulas and functions
  • BA, BS, or B.com degree required (Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics etc.)
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills
  • Good business acumen
  • Knowledge and experience for finance arrangement such as tax equity, project finance

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3+ years of business finance or other relevant experience
  • Finance, Accounting, Economics or Statistics are preferred major fields
  • FMVA or similar designations preferred
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and experience of several transactions for corporate PPA
  • Knowledge and experience of transaction for equity sell-down

  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
